Line balancing is done in all sewing factories, it is an attempt to maximise the use of the labour force in order to achieve the highest possible output from a group of operators, or to establish how many operators are required to achieve a given output.

This program is integrated with our other software and can be used as a standalone if required. It requires the following information.

  • Operation sequence -- This can come from Pro-SMV or can be made by the Industrial Engineer
  • A list of the various machines required to produce the style
  • The number of operators available to produce the order, or the number of pieces that should be produced hourly / daily
  • It should be tied to the skill matrix to enable the best choice of operator required for the specific operation to be performed
  • What efficiency is anticipated once the order is running, this will help to establish the anticipated output.

Once this information is available the system will automatically produce the following information during the balancing process, the object being to achieve the best possible "Balancing Efficiency"

  • Balancing efficiency
  • Theoretical output
  • Bottleneck operation
  • Manpower required, both machinists and others
  • Takt time
  • Line layout (the sequence in which the workplaces should be placed)
  • Machines required
  • Attachments required
